Who would have thought that the non-trivial Fibonacci numbers (i.e., 2, 3, 5, 8, . . . .) would be at the heart of a mathematically "indestructible" packet of playing cards that is invariant under virtually every systematic mixing procedure used today? This packet structure (called a Bessey sequence of order 8), as well as its higher-order analogs, cannot be truly randomized using any of these common mixing procedures in any quantity or in any order!

To learn more about these amazing sequences, please access the following playlist:    • Bessey Sequences & Quasi-Bessey Seque...

If you are interested in learning more about the properties, concepts, and techniques taught on the Absolute Math Magic channel, I encourage you to first work through the Card Boot Camp Series:    • Card Boot Camp Series!

Technical Notes:

(A) The Four Pile Shuffle is also called an Inverse LR Shuffle and is denoted by (LR)^(-1), where the exponent "-1" is a notational device representing the dealing out of a complete cycle-length of cards (which, here, is four cards) from Left to Right followed by dealing out the remaining cycle-length of cards (also from Left to Right) on top of those just dealt.

(B) The Reverse Four Pile Shuffle is also called a Reverse Inverse LR Shuffle and is denoted by (LR)^(-R), where the "R" in the exponent "-R" is a notational device representing the reversal of the order of dealing out the second cycle-length of cards for an Inverse LR Shuffle.
