Faial Island, Azores... Known as the blue island

Faial Island, Azores... Known as the blue island is one of the 9 islands in the Azores next to the island of Pico. Both islands go hand in hand so if you visit one, its cheap and easy to take the ferry to the other island. You can also take a vehicle which I recommend.

Stop by Peter's Café Sport for the best tasting Gin & Tonic(make sure you ask for the real one) and a delicious meal right by the marina. Also, Restaurant Atletico has great refreshments and good meals but a bit pricey.

If you want to go to a secluded area with no tourist, visit the town of Varadouro and stay at Apartamentos Vista Do Atlantico thru Airbnb. You have a couple of restaurants with a view and a private swimming hole area that doesn't appear on google maps near by.
