Sizing low loss headers and distribution headers.

Описание к видео Sizing low loss headers and distribution headers.

By popular demand. I've been asked a few times now to demonstrate how to size a low loss header and a distribution header. The distribution header on the return would be sized the same. In the video I provided the formula required to give the internal diameter of the pipe or tube required for each section of the design. If you are going to use a calculator to do the maths you will need to add appropriate brackets as you go through the formula. If you type in to your calculator 2000 x √of ((kilowatt) divided by (delta t x specific heat capacity x target velocity x 1000 times pi) the answer provided will be in millimetres. For a low loss header I use 0.3 m/s as my target velocity. For a distribution header I use 0.5 m per second. For normal heating distribution pipework I use 0.9 m/s. If anyone spots any errors in the video of this text feel free to comment but I hope I've got everything here explain clearly and in a manner that can be used by anyone that has viewed the video
