Manu, who grew up in a modest family, nurtured his passion for art from a young age, dabbling in miniatures and various mediums like sand and coffee stain art. His exploration led him to the intricate world of leaf art, where he crafts portraits by cutting and puncturing leaves with a penknife. Against a white backdrop, these leaf portraits, featuring icons like Vijay Sethupathi and Shahrukh Khan, reveal their detailed beauty. Four years into this art form, Manu has earned records from the India Book of Records and Asian Book of Records for his palm leaf portraits. The lockdown period inspired him to form an association that now includes 93 artists.
