This short SMA video is about the history, use and requirements for how to install sweep screed with plastering/stucco. It will help inspectors understand the weep screed and evaluate it on projects large and small. The video also explains the need for drip screeds in stucco.



The SMA are recognized experts in cement plaster, AKA stucco. They have produced a series of short videos on inspection of hard coat stucco for single-family residences. Each is specific to a topic and purposely kept to 5 minutes of less to be and focus on after installation inspections of stucco. Since home inspectors have little to no access to underlying issues, this video series is designed to help them with writing a fair report on judging cement stucco installations for the seller and buyer of a stucco home.
