Central Govt's DPDP Act Draft Rules | News9

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has released the draft rules for the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, which was passed in Parliament in August 2023. The rules aim to clarify key aspects of the law, including consent management, handling children's data, and establishing the Data Protection Board. These rules also address the verifiable consent process for processing the personal data of children or persons with disabilities. Feedback on the draft rules is being collected via the MyGov portal, with a deadline for submission set for February 18, 2025. Experts suggest that emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence should also be addressed in the rules.
