1. Various structured documents like forms, Text, Online structured forms
a wide range of less structured documents with varying layouts, for example, bills, invoices, receipts, identifier data (including the ones with tables).
2. Handwriting, signatures, and checkboxes with different file formats such as PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, doc, xlsx etc.
3. Skewed, rotated, unrelated, or low-resolution scanned documents will consume time to process manually but once instructed to uipath robot will help the task done accurately.
Document Understanding framework:
Uipath Document Understanding framework having 6 stages which is available to use in Drag and Drop.
1. Load taxonomy – define documents content and data to be processed using the Taxonomy Manager.
2. Digitize – use one of the available optical character recognition (OCR) engines to digitize the text and determine its location. various OCR engines are available in the market which is used to perform the task.
3. Classify – classify the documents from the user-specified list.
4. Extract – choose the most suitable extractors according to your document type (RegEx Based Extractor, Form Extractor, Intelligent Form Extractor, ML Extractors for invoices, receipts, purchase orders, etc)
5. Validate – if needed, a human can check in to confirm or correct the extracted data or handle exceptions.
6. Export – send the extracted info for further usage, for example, to email, spreadsheet, or SAP software our any other tool to use the data.
