Finally I found a thumbtack that will go into the wood.
I was lining new cabinets. I searched for thumbtacks to secure the liner. When I finally located the product, it could not be pressed or hammered into the wood. After much frustration, my contractor suggested ordering these on line. They work beautifully. I will purchase this item again.
