"Nand Utsav" typically refers to the festival celebrated in Nandgaon, a town in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is part of the Holi festival celebrations and holds special significance in the Krishna tradition.

During Nand Utsav, the townspeople of Nandgaon reenact the mythological event where Lord Krishna, as a child, would visit the neighboring village of Barsana (where Radha, his consort, lived) and playfully tease the women there by throwing colors at them. In response, the women of Barsana would playfully beat the men of Nandgaon with sticks.

This playful reenactment is known as "Lathmar Holi," where "lath" means stick and "mar" means to hit. It's a unique and joyful celebration where people from both villages participate enthusiastically.

Nand Utsav thus combines religious reverence with playful festivities, attracting visitors and devotees from all over India and beyond to witness and participate in the vibrant cultural event.
