The International African American Museum (IAAM) is committed to preserving and highlighting the African American experience. Through meaningful exhibitions and events, IAAM addresses historical injustices like slavery and racism while celebrating the contributions of African Americans to society.

Recently, IAAM partnered with Yale Divinity School to host a panel on Yale’s historical connections to slavery and its impact on African American communities. As a center for education and dialogue, IAAM is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting understanding, and fostering healing through history.

The panel included William Barber, Director of the Center for Public Theology and Public Policy at Yale Divinity School, David Blight, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and Yale professor, and Dr. Tonya Matthews, President and CEO of IAAM.
