Plaza de Santa María is one of the principal historic public squares in the Old Town (Ciudad Monumental) of Cáceres, in the Extremadura region of Spain. • The square lies within the Ciudad Monumental, the fortified historic center of Cáceres, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986 due to its exceptionally well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture.
