«Калифорнийские девушки» вдохновили Битлз на создание пародии «Назад в СССР». и множество песен с похожими или идентичными названиями, в том числе «September Gurls» Big Star, «California Girls» группы Magnetic Fields и «California Gurls» Кэти Перри. В 1984 году
«California Girls» — песня, написанная Брайаном Уилсоном и Майком Лавом для своей рок-группы Beach Boys. Песня вошла в её альбом 1965 года Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!).
Песня была выпущена группой как сингл и достигла в США 3 места в Billboard Hot 100. На обратной стороне сингла была песня «Let Him Run Wild» с того же альбома Summer Days.
Песня считается символом калифорнийского звучания 1960-х годов (так называемого California Sound)
В 2010 году сингл группы Beach Boys с этой песней (1965 год) был принят в Зал славы премии «Грэмми».

CALIFORNIA GIRLS - The Beach Boys
"California Girls" is a song by the American rock band the Beach Boys from their 1965 album Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!). Written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, the lyrics detail an appreciation for women across the world, but how they don't compare to women from California, the band's home state. It was released as a single, backed with "Let Him Run Wild", and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also a top 10 hit in several other countries, becoming one of the band's most successful songs globally.
Wilson conceived "California Girls" during his first acid trip while thinking about women and Western film scores. The song is distinguished for its orchestral prelude, layered vocals, and chromaticism. Wilson later referred to it as "a hymn to youth", the Beach Boys' "anthem", and his favorite record by the group, although he remained dissatisfied with their vocal performance. It was the band's first recording with touring musician Bruce Johnston, who was not yet an official member of the group.

Total Balalaika Show
The Total Balalaika Show, named for the traditional Russian string instrument, is at times outlandish, at times stirring, and always musically invigorating. There’s a strange mellifluousness in the dovetailing of the Red Army Chorus’s hearty classical chant with the Cowboys’ pop-rock braggadocio. The set list alternates between melodic country and rhythm-and-blues standards like Wilbert Harrison’s “Let’s Work Together,” Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”; traditional Russian folk tunes, including “Kalinka” and “Dark Eyes”; and patriotic hymns like “Finlandia.” Lyrically, the bluntest choice is the Turtles’ “Happy Together,” here an unabashed paean to we-can-work-it-out optimism, complete with a majestic Red Army tenor soloist who warbles alongside the guitar-vamping Cowboys. The entire extravaganza is both grandiose and disarmingly touching; Variety called it “the most incongruous—and inspired—cross-cultural pairing since Nureyev danced with Miss Piggy,” and legendary French filmmaker Chris Marker remarked in a note to critic and Kaurismäki scholar Peter von Bagh, “When historians will look for a vignette to encompass the brief autumn of utopia that followed the fall of the Empire, I doubt they can find a more significant and poignant one.”
