Living off-grid on my narrowboat home on a British canal has changed my life!
As a single liveaboard, I'm never lonely, as the nature and wildlife that surrounds me keeps me company and provides me with great entertainment. On this narrowboat vlog episode... I go cruising the cut to find a new mooring, visit the services and turn the boat around 180°. A kingfisher bird turns up outside my bedroom window! I wake up early to watch magical scenes of the mist on water. And check out my floating garden. It's looking blooming good this summer! Look out for my canine friends, Asher and Winnie! I once lived in the fast lane of life, married for 26 years, with two children. Ten years ago, I suddenly lost my wife to cancer. Suffering from depression, one morning I woke up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life. From that moment, and escaping the rat race, finding peace and tranquility on the canal, living on my canal boat, I've managed to turn my life around, get back on my feet, and now live life in the slow lane. In all the peace and stillness that I experience now, my happiness, self confidence and love has returned. As I'm inspired by nature myself, my purpose in life is to inspire others, by sharing my wonderful experiences. However dark life can get, light can always be found. Dave
