Session 3: The Democratisation of the Australian Landscape | 2024 Whitlam Institute Symposium

On 6 August 2024, exactly fifty years to the day since the Joint Sitting of 1974, the Whitlam Institute hosted a Symposium titled “Historic, Unprecedented, Sobering”: The Double Dissolution and Joint Sitting of 1974.

In Session 3, we hosted a panel discussion about Australian democracy, moderated by Professor Kim Rubenstein from the Faculty of Business, Government and Law, University of Canberra.
