I went through the entire rewatch of Series 9, keeping an eye on Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor and Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald. Watching showrunner Steven Moffat lay the groundwork for what was coming. I tried. I really really really really really tried to meet this thing on its own terms.
