Описание к видео keran valley|India🇮🇳Pakistan🇵🇰 separated by a river|Heartbreaking story💔|No Army No Visa No Fencing|

Several villages along the Neelam River near the Line of Control (LOC) form the boundary with Pakistan. Keran is one such village sharing this boundary. Located about 150 kilometers from Srinagar, Keran requires tourists to obtain permission from the Kralpora police station, approximately 15 kilometers away from Kupwara. Once permission is granted, visitors must make at least 12 photocopies of the permit to submit at each check post en route to Keran.

The road from Kralpora to Keran is macadamized and in good condition, except for the last five kilometers, which are deteriorated with large potholes. Upon reaching Keran, the valley presents a picturesque view with a river flowing through the middle, dividing two parts of Keran that once formed a single unit.

The river that separates two parts of Kashmir is known by different names in each country. In India, it is called Kishenganga, while in Pakistan, it is known as Neelum. Keran spans both sides of the river, with one side located in District Kupwara and the other in District Neelum.

Neelum is not just the name of a river, but also a beautiful and expansive valley, as well as a district. This place is quite popular throughout Pakistan. People from all over the country flock here during the summer. The road leading from Muzaffarabad to Neelum is often busy with traffic. This road runs parallel along the banks of the Neelum River.

Neelum district is located directly opposite Keran, on the hilltop above the river. If one looks up, it is clearly visible from the Kashmir side. The riverfront on the opposite is well-developed compared to this side. Last year, the J&K government opened this place to tourists, leading to limited development with only homestays and tents available.

Many locals migrated across the border in the 1990s, leaving many homes here vacant. In Keran's beautiful valley, some 150-year-old houses made entirely of deodar wood still stand, highlighting a unique architectural tradition. Living along the LOC is challenging due to the constant fear of death. I heard many distressing stories from locals that are hard to describe.
