GET READY (To Glue Stuff) - Kotobukiya 1/100 Temjin (Virtual On) - Build Overview and Thoughts

I’m going to have that music stuck in my head for the rest of the year now.

It was definitely a unique experience putting this take on Sega’s Mecha legend Temjin together, but I think it mostly pays off in how it looks and poses. It’s certainly more fragile than I’d have liked, even if the main damage I did to it was my own fault, but it doesn’t feel too far removed from my usual model kit fare. Also, it looks and feels substantially better than the other Temjin I own, so that’s nice.

Sorry about the rather long wait for this video - a perfect storm of shoulder breakage, writers block, and yet more microphone malarkey meant getting this lobbed together took much longer than I’d have liked. In spite of that, I’m quite happy with the finished product, although I think it’s about time I built some kits that don’t require a bunch of seam line removal. All that plastic cement can’t be good for me!

The ingame footage of Cyber Troopers Virtual On was captured directly from Sega Saturn by my brother, SegaSonic maniac ‪@TrackerTD‬. Hilariously, he reckons it ended up being the best run of the game he’s ever done. The much-abused Sonic figure is also his, although I neglected to tell him about what that entailed for poor Sonic.

All the stock photos and logos were taken from the relevant wikias and assorted web stores.

The music this time, besides the usual intro and outro music, is taken from the soundtrack for Cyber Troopers Virtual On for Sega Saturn. The tracks used were:

She’s Lost Control (S.L.C.)
Everything Merges With the Night
Higher Ground
Ruins
Hypotension (Case 05)
Alice in the Wonderland
Absent Lovers
Earth Light
Hypotension (Case 03)
Burned by the Fire
Get Ready - In the Blue Sky
Waiting Girl
In The Blue Sky (1996 Arrange Ver.)

All composed by Kentaro Koyama for SEGA.
