Filmed on Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art’s 10-year anniversary on November 11, 2021, Crystal Bridges Founder and Board Chair Alice Walton and Executive Director and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer Rod Bigelow take a walk down memory lane by reminiscing on 10 years of art, nature, and the people who made it all possible. Featuring special guest Moshe Safdie, Crystal Bridges’ architect, they’ll also discuss the museum’s construction process and future plans for expansion.

ABOUT CRYSTAL BRIDGES
The mission of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is to welcome all to celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of nature. Founded by philanthropist and arts patron Alice Walton, who chairs the museum’s board of directors, Crystal Bridges is a public non-profit charitable organization. The museum opened on November 11, 2011, and welcomes all with free admission.

Crystal Bridges takes its name from a nearby natural spring and the bridge construction incorporated in the building. A series of pavilions nestled around two spring-fed ponds house galleries, meeting and classroom spaces, and a large, glass-enclosed gathering hall. Guest amenities include a restaurant (Eleven) and Coffee Bar on a glass-enclosed bridge overlooking the ponds, a Museum Store designed by architect Marlon Blackwell, and a library featuring more than 50,000 volumes of art reference material. Five miles of sculpture and walking trails link the museum’s 120-acre park to downtown Bentonville, Arkansas.

ABOUT MOSHE SAFDIE
Crystal Bridges was designed by internationally renowned architect Moshe Safdie, who envisioned a building that would complement the surrounding Ozark landscape. Nestled into a natural ravine, the museum integrates the element of water on the site through the creation of two spring-fed ponds that are spanned by two signature bridge structures and surrounded by a group of pavilions housing museum galleries and studios.
