Will having extra amniotic fluid affect the intensity of my contractions?

Описание к видео Will having extra amniotic fluid affect the intensity of my contractions?

You want to know, if you have extra amniotic fluid, if it will affect the intensity of contractions. Now if you have an abnormally large amount of amniotic fluid, it's definitely going to make you more uncomfortable during the pregnancy because your belly is bigger, it might make it harder to take deep breaths, and make you feel bigger faster. But it's not going to affect the intensity of contractions. Contractions hurt no matter what. It doesn't matter how big your uterus is. In fact, Labor & Delivery is the one place in the hospital where if you come in, and you say you're hurting, and you're full-term, we're actually excited for you, because it means something good. It means you might have a baby. Everywhere else in the hospital, pain means something bad.

There are other implications associated with a large amount of amniotic fluid though. And I'm guessing, since they've found this out, your doctor has recommended continual testing. They'll probably be checking your fluid levels at least weekly and watching the baby, and sometimes additional ultrasounds are necessary. So check with your doctor if you have any other questions about it.
