Plastic is everywhere - when this era of history is examined it will undoubtedly be named the Plasticene. Plastics are found in every corner of the planet and microplastics have been found anywhere from artic ice to the placentas of unborn babies.

But instead of trying to fix the problem at the beginning, most ways of curbing plastics so far have focused at the final stages, where plastic has become trash.

A company out of Western Australia, Uluu, is aiming to change that, they have pioneered a method of making microbes produce a type of bioplastic, that can be extracted and molded much like fossil fuel based plastic.
