This video is very special to me! It was my lifelong dream – to take a journey into the wild with an instrument that would be compact and powerful enough to play and record off-the-grid.

Soma Terra became both the solution and huge inspiration. Not so compact as I would like, but light enough, self-sufficing and very powerful instrument beyond all doubts.

This was my first long travell I did solo. I should say it was a big challenge to me and a great achievment - to struggle my fears.

The travel took me 9 days including a road from Moscow to Ladoga and back by car. The biggest part of the trip I did with a small kayak Шуя-1 (Nortik Scubi 1 XL). It was a real trick to fit there all my baggage and 30 killograms of equippment. I actually had to leave some baggage at my car just because it didn’t get into the kayak.

All the music you hear in this movie was composed, performed and recorded during this trip on August, 11-19th, 2024

*** A bit of explanation to play of words in this video: “шxериться” – comes from Sweden “skär” (“skerry” in English) – in Russian means to hide away somewhere. A very propper word for Ladoga skerries :)
