Impact of anchors on Posidonia meadows

Video made by Andromède Océanologie at the request of the Corsican Environment Office (Office de l’Environnement de la Corse, Mission GECT-PMIBB), as part of the Italy France Maritime Cooperation Program 2014-2020, GIREPAM strategic project (Integrative Management of Ecological Networks through Parks and Marine Areas).
A large-scale environmental issue is highlighted through these poignant images: the impact generated by the anchors of large yachts on the seabed, particularly on the Posidonia meadows. The objective of this video is to raise awareness among the public and decision-makers in order to quickly find solutions to stop the destruction of this protected and essential habitat for Mediterranean.
