Guitar Rag

Описание к видео Guitar Rag

This is my favorite finger picking tune. There are lyrics to it but it works well as an instrumental. Folk history tells that this tune was written by Amos Johnson, who showed it to Mose Rager, who played it for Merle Travis, who recorded it. I learned it from an instructional DVD made by Merle's son Thom Bresh, called The Real Merle Travis Guitar. (Thanks Thom! I wish you would do another teaching DVD!) My arrangement is based mostly on the way Thom taught it, but with a few variations, and a different intro and ending.

I'm playing a 2009 Merrill C-28 Cocobolo Rosewood, recorded with two mics, and no audio effects of any kind. No reverb, EQ, compression, etc.

I hope you enjoy this tune as much as I do!
