On a warm final Saturday of April 2024 we took a field trip to various locations along the BNSF Mendota and Ottumwa Subdivisions to catch the various Amtrak trains that serve Galesburg, IL. These are the locations that we visited:

Mendota, IL - Illinois Zephyr 380 and Carl Sandburg 381
Cameron, IL - California Zephyr 6
Kewanee, IL - Southwest Chief 4
Princeton, IL - California Zephyr 5
Zearing, IL - Southwest Chief 3 (Note: This train is only going as far as Albuquerque, NM due to a derailment near the AZ/NM state line)
