US Sends Additional Aid to Ukraine As Russian Troops Press New Offensive | EWTN News Nightly

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has wrapped up a 2 day visit to Ukraine. During a press conference with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, he reaffirmed the US support for its ally. Blinken said, "We have, of course, the supplemental and the assistance from the supplemental is on its way. In fact, some of it has already been delivered. But today I want to add to that by announcing that we will provide an additional $2 billion in foreign military financing for Ukraine." The announcement comes as Russian troops press a new offensive in Ukraine's Kharkiv region. Ukrainian authorities are working to evacuate all residents in the region. Political Scientist and Director of the Eurasia Democracy Initiative, Peter Zalmayev, joins to share his reaction to the additional $2 billion in military aid and how important the aid is right now. Russian forces are advancing on Kharkiv. Zalmayev discusses whether he thinks that now that US military aid is arriving, Ukraine will be able to push the Russians back.
