Not NEARLY enough people are talking about The Studio. Plenty of people are, and they're all raving about it. But I'd love this show to reach zeitgeist shift levels of viewership, The Studio is my exact ish. So much so that I was worried it was SO much for me, that I didn't know who else its target demo was? Which got me thinking about ART and Approachability and IP and narrowing focus and auteur filmmakers and four quadrant films, and movies stars and influencers and the day in and day out of movie making above and below the Line, and studio executives and well.., it got me thinking about The Movies,

So thank you The Studio, thank you Seth Rogen, thank you Apple TV+, thank you to everyone involved, Here's a non-spoiler review of Season 1 of The Studio.

The Studio is an American satirical cringe comedy television series created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. It stars Rogen as an embattled Hollywood studio head struggling to balance corporate demands with his own passion for producing quality films. Catherine O'Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn play supporting roles. The series was released on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on March 26, 2025.[1] The series has been renewed for a second season.[2]

The series has received critical acclaim for its direction, cinematography, humor, and satire of the film industry. It has become notable for its extensive use of long takes,[3] as well as for featuring high-profile celebrity cameos in every episode.
