Loudoun’s international business base consists of 120 known firms from 27 countries. The Loudoun-based facilities of the foreign-owned companies are the U.S. or North American headquarters, R&D or sales offices.

Loudoun’s proximity to Dulles Airport has proven to be key in attracting foreign-owned companies. Twenty-seven percent of the county’s foreign-owned firms are in the transportation and warehousing industry, with wholesale trade making up an additional 17 percent.
