Uganda Police have arrested a 19-year-old student of Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Savior Guma after he was filmed boasting that he uses his IT skills to hack into stolen phones and other devices to change serial numbers to evade tracking at a fee.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Mr Patrick Onyango told journalists that the suspect and his alleged accomplice confessed to recording the video but claimed it was only meant to generate views and likes on social media.
They will be charged with computer misuse and being a public nuisance to serve as a lesson to other would-be offenders, according to police.
