From New Jalpaiguri, you can hire a private taxi (approx. INR 2000), a sharing taxi (approx. INR 500), or a bus (approx. INR 110) to reach Darjeeling, which is around 70 km away.
• By Flight: The nearest airport is Bagdogra, located around 70 km from Darjeeling. You can take a taxi (approx. INR 2500) or a bus from the airport to reach Darjeeling.
• By Bus: Direct buses to Darjeeling are available from major cities in West Bengal like Kolkata, Siliguri, Durgapur, and Howrah.
• By Toy Train: You can also take the toy train from New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri to Darjeeling, with tickets priced around INR 1500.
Stay in Darjeeling:
• Budget hotels are available near Gandhi Road and Mall Road, with rooms starting at around INR 1000.
Food and Dining:
• Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available, though non-vegetarian food is more common.

4. Tea Gardens: Visit the famous tea gardens and shop for Darjeeling tea, renowned worldwide.
5. The Mall: An open square in the city, offering horse riding, games for kids, shopping, and food stalls.
6. Tiger Hills: Located 22 km from the city center, it’s best visited early in the morning for stunning sunrise views and breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga.
7. Batasia Loop & Gorkha War Memorial: Located 5 km from the city center, this spot offers a toy train ride and a war memorial for Gorkha soldiers.
8. Darjeeling Ropeway: The country’s first cable car, offering stunning views of the tea gardens and the entire Darjeeling area.
