In this video, we will be talking about the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V RS! So clearly, you do not want to miss out on this, and so, without further ado, let's start with today's video.
Already immensely popular among subcompact SUV shoppers, the Honda HR-V returns for the 2022 model year with no changes to its proven formula. The HR-V continues to set the standard for its class regarding connectivity, versatility, and safety.
Although Honda no longer offers the Fit, the hatchback's underpinnings live on in the Honda HR-V, the only remaining subcompact vehicle in the brand's lineup. This SUV competes in a crowded segment, including the Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Soul, as well as Toyota's C-HR.
For the 2022 model year, the HR-V sees no changes before a new model likely makes its debut for 2023. The next-gen Honda HR-V will be more equipped for its higher base price, however it's down a seat and produces less torque and power than before in petrol models.
The new 2022 Honda HR-V range opens at around $37,000 drive-away in petrol Vi X specification. The base price is up by $5,400 over the outgoing VTi, although more standard equipment includes LED headlights, keyless entry and start, and front and rear parking sensors.
Also, the hybrid e: HEV L is said to be priced at $45,000 drive-away. It is said to be priced from around $38,000 before on-roads, equating to $41,000 drive-away. A hybrid powertrain option is rare for a small SUV in Australia, with the C-HR hybrid the most obvious rival.
Even though it's the smallest SUV in the lineup, the HR-V offers the same interior packaging magic as other Hondas. The cabin feels spacious, offering a comfortable amount of rear legroom even for taller passengers. Honda's second-row Magic Seats can be configured in smart ways; they fold up off the ground to hold tall items or flat to the ground for longer cargo. The HR-V has a lot more gear than it should for its size.
The fabric seats resist tears and stains, as we found with our year-long Honda HR-V test SUV. But overall, the interior feels a little too cheap. Also, we'd steer clear of the base model, which has a small infotainment screen with neither Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto.
The HR-V is capable enough for an outdoor adventurer, with available AWD and adequate ground clearance for traversing graded dirt roads. Unfortunately, this little SUV isn't much fun to drive. The engine accelerates slowly up to freeway speeds and makes an unpleasant groaning sound there. Car experts have said that they wish it drove more quietly.
The Honda HR-V has quite a few strengths; the problem is, this segment is getting competitive. Honda's competitors offer better performance and overall refinement. It gets good fuel economy, too, although not as good as some competitors.
In terms of its exterior, the new Honda HR-V measures 1590mm tall, 4335mm long, 1790mm wide, and rides a 2610mm wheelbase.
The new 2022 HR-V has 195mm.
The new Honda HR-V Vi X will be powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 89kW of power at around 6600 rpm and 145 Nm.
The e: HEV L uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain. The little Honda tops out at 28/34 mpg city/highway.
Moreover, the outgoing HR-V range used a 105kW/172 Nm 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, which has been replaced with two new powertrain options. The 2022 Honda HR-V uses 5.8L/100km in Vi X guise and 4.3L/100km in the hybrid e:HEV L.
Thanks to Honda's standard 1.8-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine found beneath the hood of the HR-V.
Well, guys, that is all we have for you today!
