This three disc set of music by Wagner, Strauss, Haydn, Berlioz and Britten was embargoed by the singer during her lifetime for reasons best known only to her. Granted, the Four Last Songs may not equal her epic earlier recording with Kurt Masur, but everything else is either new and interesting, or just plain wonderful. So good for Decca in making it happen, especially as the booklet gives you complete texts and (English) translations.
