Producer Two Lewis Brings Two Films to MVAAFF, Creating Space for Black Stories & Community Impact
At the 23rd Annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF), rising film producer Two Lewis made a powerful debut by bringing two films to the Vineyard: 333 (produced with his wife Ntori) and Color Book, a moving father-son story now up for Best Feature. For Lewis, who hails from East Atlanta, the opportunity to present not one but two films at one of the nation’s most celebrated showcases for Black creatives is a milestone moment in both his career and personal journey.
Working alongside his wife Ntori—a former child pop star turned writer and creative—Lewis described the unique challenges and joys of creating films as a family. He compared the process to raising children, requiring balance, patience, and constant learning. “It’s like giving birth,” he said of producing a film, underscoring how every project, whether deeply personal or not, requires intention, love, and care.
Lewis explained that the mission behind his production company is rooted in storytelling for underserved communities. His passion lies in showcasing Black men’s daily struggles, fatherhood, and stories often overlooked in mainstream media. Having once been a professional athlete, Lewis reflected on how many of his peers never received the same opportunities he did, not because of lack of talent, but because of lack of exposure. Through filmmaking, he hopes to give voice to those stories and create visibility for people who rarely get the spotlight.
The conversation also highlighted the cultural significance of MVAAFF as a platform. For Lewis, who admitted he hadn’t even heard of the Vineyard community before this opportunity, the experience was eye-opening. He described it as both an honor and a responsibility: to take what he’s learned here and share it back home, inspiring his community to aim higher and envision themselves in new spaces..
Beyond film, Lewis embodies the multi-hyphenate creative: husband, father, businessman, and mentor. His story is about more than filmmaking—it’s about building legacy, elevating community, and showing that Black storytelling belongs not only in intimate conversations but also on the big screen.
