Last week in Richmond Hill, Aurora and Newmarket, the housing market showed strong and stable activities despite approaching the Christmas holidays. In terms of the average price, freehold homes in Richmond Hill experienced a significant improvement which could be tied to the sudden increase in sales that started two weeks ago. The average price in Aurora went in the opposite direction, which is expected, as I mentioned in my last week’s discussion. And in Newmarket, while the price stayed steady, we have seen more buyer demand and sales, so the price may trend upward. Things we think might affect the market activities are more sellers started to withdraw listings from the market because they do not believe they will get good offers in December, but buyers are actually starting to make purchase decisions, especially for foreigners because on January 1st they will no longer to eligible to purchase a residential property.
