Part 2 of our i-miev DC-DC converter repair, this part is the replacing the blown capacitors themselves, starting with disassembly of the converter, removing the main circuit board, removing and installing the new caps, then reassembly.

fortunately, the relay on our converter was ok.

Another failed component is the fuse on top of the motor controller, we used a temporary Solar panel fuse of the same spec to test while we waited for the genuine part to arrive from Mitsubishi.
Once installed, car reassembled, a reverse of Part 1, the car worked fine, and has worked fine ever since.

I am aware that the component can fail in differeing ways, but this was how we fixed ours, and the cost of repair was less than $50, and took a single weekend to complete.

When this fails, the car will fail to charge from AC power, though it will still drive and operate normally, only showing 2 errors on the instruments, 1 of the High voltage system, and the 12 volt system. i believe you can still charge from DC via the Chademo port, though i did not try this.
