The Next Small Thing | Tiny Kingdom (Pixel-Art City Builder - Demo)

Tiny Kingdom is a game where we build up our tiny pixel art kingdom by playing cards to build stuff, with the ultimate goal being to build ourselves a lovely castle!

We begin with a tiny little bit of land in the middle of the ocean and not much else. We have to use our cards to build things like homes, farms, lumberjacks and even additional bits of island!

Each time we buy a card from the deck it costs us some money so we have to be careful with what we're spending and we have to instead make use of the abilities of the cards we're playing. For example if we play a house card then we get to draw another card for free, if we play a lumberjack we might get a pier card or a house card, if we play a pier card we might get island pieces or something else!

As we play we reach certain objectives which give us more money or new buildings and, eventually, we begin to unlock the castle components we need to build our own place to live! However the castle bits are quite tricky to get out of the deck so we have to make sure we keep things ticking over and that we have enough money to build our castle...
