Tile Roof Leak Detection for a job done Laguna Niguel, Ca by South County Roofing

This is the first of five videos showing the roof repair.

This is a video we took while repairing a "S" tile roof on a home in Laguna Niguel, Ca. This customer had called us after a pretty big rain storm and reported that he had a lot of damage to his vaulted ceiling above his dining room. The damage ran all the way down and was also coming through a window that was inline with the ceiling damage.

I took a couple of different videos showing how we choose the area to start trying to find the leak and after chasing the leak for about two hours we ended up finding the roof leak source about 20 feet up the roof just under a valley section.

In the end the waterproofing under the valley wasn't sufficient to handle all the water that was coming off the valley and over a time period of about 25 years that paper had just simply worn out.

This is a classic example of wear and tear on a certain area of the roof that really could have used a little more protection during the initial install.

I think the big takeaway from this little series is how big of a job your roof leak can be. And if you think someone is going to be able to fix simply or quickly you will know that is sometimes not possible.
