Chairman Railway Board visits New Delhi Station ahead of Chhath Festival to review arrangements

Ahead of the Chhath festival rush, Chairman, Railway Board, Ashwani Lohani visited New Delhi railway station to review the arrangements being made by the Railway to meet the festive rush period. R.K. Kulshrestha , General Manager, Northern Railway, A.S.Upadhyay, Chief Operations Manager, Northern Railway, Devesh Mishra, Chief Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, RN Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi, Northern Railway and senior Railway officers of the Delhi Division were present on the occasion.

He visited the catering stalls, RO water vending machines on PF no. 16 which is one of the dedicated platforms for East-bound trains during the rush period, booking counter areas and interacted with rail passengers there. Shri Lohani gave directives for regulation of crowds on platforms especially at the unreserved coaches of trains. He also exhorted that close monitoring of reservation centres and surveillance of touting activity in the station area be maintained. He was briefed by officers of the comprehensive action plan rolled out to meet the hectic period.
