'The Duellists' is a 1977 classic Napoleonic Wars history movie by Ridley Scott.
The story is based around Joseph Conrad's 1908 novella, 'The Duel'.
Two French Hussars are at odds with each other during and after the Napoleonic Wars; they fight each other in a series of duels.

This is the final showdown duel between,
Armand d'Hubert (played by Keith Carradine) vs. Gabriel Feraud (played by Harvey Keitel).
After Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, Feraud has ended up on the French Royalist police watchlist for having supported Napoleon in his failed comeback attempt. In contrast, D'Hubert, who did not rally to Napoleon, has ended up in favourable circumstances. Nonetheless, Feraud sends two of his minions to go on an errand to meet with d'Hubert, and arrange one final 'winner takes all' duel.
