5 Mistakes Graduate Students Make (that they realize after they graduate)

Описание к видео 5 Mistakes Graduate Students Make (that they realize after they graduate)

You can set yourself up for post-graduate success (aka getting a job) if you remember to do these 5 things while you're still studying.

Between classes, assignments and reading it is easy to forget about life after graduation. Especially, if you're like me and can't focus in things that are too far out in the future. However, this video is a little reminder for you to do things that will benefit you a little more long term in regards to your professional life.

This video is especially relevant if you are in University / college and are studying within the social sciences or humanities that give you broad competencies and hence also broad job opportunities. I think that studying things like sociology, anthropology, communication, journalism, linguistics, philosophy etc. requires extra self-reflection about what you are particularly interested in and research into what the job market requires. So don't wait until you have graduated to do some of things I mention in this video.

DISCLAIMER: the definition of success is different for everyone and will also change for ourselves. When I talk about success in this video it is purely from the standpoint of a neoliberal capitalistic expectations. In reality, you get to decide what success means for you. Also, what you do for a living does not and will never define your worthiness as a human being.

👩🏻‍🎓 I have a Bachelor degree in Anthropology and a Master degree in Experience Economy - both from Aarhus University, Denmark. I’m absolutely in love with the social sciences and humanities! I’m especially curious about how meanings are continuously created through our interactions with the world and how designs (services, products, processes) influence how we relate to ourselves and each other.
