With LIBRETTO Istvan Kantor continues his persistent scout for a heroic figure of the revolutionary individual while exploring his always highly ironic and trenchant cinematic art. His protagonists are difficult to define, but according to Kantor they should be perceived as survivors of doomsday, seriously damaged replicants from a post-human era, desperately trying to play the roles they were programmed for but with little success. One of them is a gravedigger who is also a free-spirited sex worker, performed by Tricia Sabo, the other one is a rebel poet who aims to be sacrificed as a revolutionary, enacted by Monty Cantsin. Their meeting turns into an absurd comedy that gives Kantor a chance to express his Neoist ideas and sarcastic overviews through a desolate landscape epitomizing the end of social revolt.
