This method works if the upper statue moves towards you at the beginning of the combat. That happened about 95% of the time in my combat practice reloads. The main goal was to make the strategy very robust, so that it can be used reliably in TCS runs. I'm curious about improvements or different strategies, so feel free to leave suggestions/questions in the comments.

Update: I am using Savage Attack instead of Bloody Slaughter now. I would recommend deactivating it for the Thaos battle tho.


Step by Step

Step 1: Immediately pause and activate Shadowing, then run SW into the barrier.

Step 2: Wait for the statue to touch you, then circle the arena counter-clockwise.

Step 3: Stop where I do and place a Moonwell under you, then pop a Gaze, Motion and Paint Potion. The order of potions matters, as they have different run-times.

Step 4: Walk into view of statue, hit it with a Spreading Plague. The status effects will enable Sneak Attacks + Deathblows.

Step 5: Wait for it to come into range, then just attack.

Step 6: Heal a bit after the combat in your Moonwell, then edge around the rock. Make sure to hug it so that Thaos does not see you.

Step 7: Stay out of view of the second statue and pop a Gaze, Motion and Paint Potion.

Step 8: Put a Moonwell in half distance to the statue and summon Shades onto it.

Step 9: While the statue is coming closer, put a Spreading Plague on it. Engage it with your Shades once it has arrived at the circle.

Step 10: Circle around it a bit to avoid its initial AoE (I didn't :P), then just attack from the side to also get flanked bonus. Sometimes it switches focus to you, but in my runs that didn't help it. It might be good to break the aggro by using Shadowing, wait for it to attack the Shades, then resume your attacks.

Step 11: Once it has died, place a new Moonwell under you and your minions. Pop a Gaze, ESSENCE and Motion Potion. Use Suppress Affliction on you and your minions. This will help against debuffs from Thaos. Pop a Paint Potion.

Step 12: Slowly move towards Thaos, make sure your way towards him is not blocked by your minions.

Step 13: Pause after spotting Thaos and immediately cast the Arcane Dampener on him. If that hits (~35%-40% chance) it will make this fight relatively easy by surpressing his buffs. Tell your minions to attack him as well.

Step 14: Cast a Spreading Plague on him, and get closer, but keep a bit of distance. Your minions should have by now arrived. In all of my runs he cast a Cleansing Flame, but that spell has a very short range so he will target a Shade.

Step 15: Immediately attack when you see the Cleansing Flame symbol, position yourself to get the flanked bonus. Open up using Blinding Strike, then Hobble, then Withering, then Hobble again. Afterwards you pray. :) Alltho, having the Cleansing Flame dodged you should survive his following Pillar of Flames, which is normally followed by Domination and buff/debuff stuff.
