James was never ranked or written about growing up- he wasn't one of the kids who people labeled a top prospect or discussed on message boards. James never cared though- he was never worried- he worked hard on the things within his power, and everything else took care of itself (he grew to 6'7"). Now, with one year left in his high school career, James Farr has finally arrived. Combining his size and length with exceptional skills and smarts on the basketball, James is a few post moves and some added toughness away from being one of the elite big men in the class of 2011. At this time last year I doubt there was a college coach in America who planned on making James Farr a recruiting priority- now he has D1 schools from coast to coast tracking his progress- eager to evaluate him this AAU season. Next time you hear someone use the phrase "don't believe the hype," think of James Farr- there were a lot of kids who got more hype than James growing up, and you'd be hard pressed to find one of them who can guard him....
