A massive controversy has erupted ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been forced out of the tournament after refusing to play their group-stage matches in India.
Bangladesh cited security concerns and demanded that all their matches be shifted to Sri Lanka, as the tournament is being jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. However, the ICC rejected this demand and issued a 24-hour ultimatum to BCB to confirm participation.
After Bangladesh failed to change its stance, ICC took a strong decision and officially removed Bangladesh from the tournament. In their place, Scotland has been included based on ICC rankings.
