Building an $80 Custom Keyboard | GK61X Modding Guide for Beginners

I show you how to build a cheap/budget custom mechanical keyboard so that you can dip your toes into this rabbit hole of a hobby! I hope this video actually helps people get the most out of their GK61X boards.

CORRECTIONS & ADDITIONS TO THE VIDEO INFORMATION:

The GK61X (and many others, if not all 60% keyboards) use a "standard ANSI layout" which takes 61 switches as a 60% keyboard. Grabbing a pack of 60 switches isn't enough to fill the board, which was an oversight on me. You need a 7 (10 packs of switches which makes 70) or 3 (25 packs of switches to make 75) or a vendor that sells switches individually (like RingerKeys).

Divinikey is US vendor based in the West Coast which is why I personally used them.

I did put shelf liner that I got from Dollar Tree into the board to try and help make it sound better. I forgot to include this in the video mainly because I didn't have footage of me placing it into the board, but I doubt it really did anything to help the board's acoustics. A more effective solution in my opinion would be to either use packaging foam, neoprene foam, or sorbothane.
