Cationic emulsion bitumen for drilling fluid is processed by a variety of surfactants, cationic shale control agent and bitumen with a certain range of softening points by a special process.
The micron grade positively charged bitumen particles are easy to absorb to the solid particles of negatively charged, involved in the formation of mud cake, improve the quality of mud cake, the particles and the cationic shale control agent can enter the micro cracks in the borehole wall, adhesion and gather each other, so as to play the role of plugging,bridging,anti-swelling,anti-sloughing, filtration control and reservoir protection.
The minerals on the rock surface adsorb cationic emulsified bitumen for drilling fluid to make it breaking of emulsion, the bitumen grains are released to adhere to the hole wall, forming a thin and tough asphaltene film, which plays the role of sealing and insulating water. Preventing water flooding into the water-sensitive formation, the asphaltene sealing the micro-cracks of water-sensitive shale to stabilize the pore wall.
