The district of Neelum (spelt also Neelam; Urdu: نیلم ) is the northernmost of 10 districts located within the Pakistani-administered territory of Azad Kashmir. Taking up the larger part of the Neelam Valley, the district has a population of around 191,000 people (as of 2017).

Neelum Valley is one of the most famous tourist destinations of Pakistan. The hospitality of the people of Kashmir is amazing. People are friendly.

Neelum Valley is accessible by road from Muzaffarabad. It's a scenic road along the river bank of Neelum River.

Geography:
Neelum Valley is the neighboring valley of Kaghan Valley and is situated at LOC (Border between India & Pakistan). On the North side of the valley Astore is situated which is a city of Gilgit Baltistan region.

Weather:
Summers: Average weather of the valley during summers remains warm to moderate and during rains it becomes cold. so you must keep warm clothes during your stay as it's un-predictable when it starts raining in these areas.
Winters: Due to snowfall in most of the parts of the Valley its freezing cold here and some places are not accessible in winters. visiting Neelum Valley in winters will make your trip limited to some places.

Accessibility:
Valley is easily accessible by many means if want to travel by you car you can. Other options are local jeeps, coasters and busses easily available from Muzaffarabad (Capital city of Azad Kashmir). only a few places are not possible to reach by ordinary means you need local jeeps with skills to drive on difficult and dangerous terrains.

Food and Accommodations:
Hotels, Campsites and resorts are available in the valley and as well as prices are concerned, Valley is considered as cheaper than the other tourist destinations of the country.
Food is no problem as there are hotels through out the valley. Though some people do not like the taste as traditional way of cooking food is different.

Best time to visit is From May to August as during this time period beauty of valley is at its peak.
