On the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, we wish we can all imbibe the qualities like strength, loyalty, wisdom and courage of Lord Hanuman.

He was a celestial being, the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva, had enormous strength and wisdom and yet, Lord Hanuman humbly offered his entire life in the service of Lord Rama. Such is the power of an unwavering devotion.

This graceful Bharatnatyam dance composition presented by the students of Swaroopa Utgi Classical Dance Co. throws a spotlight on a unique and popular Hindu devotional Hymn ‘Hanuman Chalisa’.

The word Chalisa meaning number 40, describes the 40 verses written in praise of Lord Hanuman by Tulsidas – A poet from 16th century. Lord Hanuman’s phenomenal qualities, his devotion to Rama and his key role in Ramayana are detailed in Hanuman Chalisa. There is a religious belief that regular chanting of Hanuman Chalisa invokes Lord Hanuman's divine intervention to resolve grave problems.
