This review of the AMD R9 3900X looks at the CPU critically in gaming benchmarks and production or workstation benchmarks. The 3900X strikes at workstation-class performance in some of our tested applications, giving former HEDT users a more "budget" option relative to the performance. The primary comparison versus the AMD R9 3900X is vs. the Intel i9-9900K, although we also compare the R9 3900X to the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 that we previously reviewed, as gaming builds can potentially cut some costs by dropping down a few SKUs in pricing.
