Baked Nippattu | Thattai | Nippattu - healthy Indian snacks | 3 mins video

Recipe & Tips

Dry roast 1/4 cup groundnuts until the skin begins to come off and remove the skin.
Add the peeled groundnuts into a mixer jar and add roasted gram Dal - 1/4 cup. Pulse to make a coarse powder.
In a mixing bowl add rice flour - 1 cup, chiroti rava/fine Rava - 3 tbsp, the ground powder,
white sesame seeds- 1 tbsp, Salt- 1 tsp, red chili powder- 1 tsp, roughly chopped curry leaves, hot oil - 2 tbsp. Mix everything until the mix starts holding shape as shown in the video.
Add water and make a tight dough
Pre-heat the oven at 170 degrees for 10 minutes.
Make small balls from the dough
Apply little water on your palm, pat them into a round shape as shown in the video. Please check the video to see the thickness
Take a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place the prepared nippattu
Bake for 10 minutes
Flip and bake for another 5 mins, Keep checking in between
Once baked on both sides, place the nippattu in a cooling rack
nippattu is ready, enjoy with hot tea/coffee

Tips
Hot oil that is added in the flour must sizzle when added, it should be that hot. This makes Nippattu Crispy.
The dough should be tight and non-sticky.
While patting and making shapes keep other balls covered or else they may get dry.
Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
