Death of Sariputta Thero 1.

Saryut Maharahat was second only to Lord Buddha in wisdom. The son of Vangatha Bamuna and Rupasari Baminiya was born as gem for them. Sari was known as Sariputta as he was the son of Sari Baminiya.

Later, Upatissa saw Assaji Maha Theru, who was preaching the Dharma in Rajagaha for a while, and finally he lowered his eyes on the Dharma. As soon as he finished hearing the first two verses of the four verses preached by Assaji, he was in Sovan Phala. Later, he informed his friend Kolitha and went to the Buddha and got ordained as a "bhikkhu there".

Two weeks after that, the Buddha heard the Dhamma preached to Paribrajakaya, the nephew of Saryut Maha Theru, "Dighanakha" in "Sukarakhata" cave in Rajagaha, and he got rid of all the defilements and became Maharahat. He has stated that in Thera Gatha Pali.

"The Blessed Lord Buddha preached the Dhamma to another. I listened to that sermon very well with trained ears. It is not empty. After listening to that Dhamma, I got rid of all the filth and attained greatness." Among the great wise monks, Sariyuth Maharahat took the top position. In the same way, Sariyuth Maharahat held the position of right-hand man of the Buddha, and held the position of Dharma Senadhipati of Gautama Buddha. There are many examples that any person who wants a good life can take from the character of Sariyuth.
Sariyuth had a stomach ailment that used to occur from time to time. This happened on several occasions and eventually it became very severe. After examining the reasons for this, the Lord saw that his last season had reached. He took permission from the Buddha to seek Nirvana and went to his native village of Nalaka. That was with the aim of taking his mother Rupasari Bhaminiya to the samma dittiti before passing away. Finally, she was impressed by her son Saryut Maha Theru, who was being worshiped and received great care by Dev Bambun in the village of Nalaka, and heard Dhamma. At that time, the Lord preached the Dharma, revealing the virtues of a new arahant Buddha. At the end of the sermon, Rupasari Bamini became the noble Sovan. Then the assembled bhikkhus preached the Dhamma to all the chiefs, lay down on the right side, followed by meditation, and then Anupadisesha passed away with the relic of Parinirvana.
